Birdsville Big Red Bash
It's Live! in Queensland

ROAD & WEATHER UPDATE 23 JUNE 2023

ROAD & WEATHER UPDATE 23 JUNE 2023

Bashville is looking great as we work on site layout, loos, structures and much more. Preparation continues as we get ready for the roll in days next weekend.

We continue to watch the weather forecast and to consult with Police, Council, Health and the local communities. At today’s town meeting we had a briefing from the Bureau of Meteorology about conditions for the coming week and as our roll-in dates approach.

The information at this stage indicates that there might be enough rain to close the Birdsville Track mid-week. We suggest that those driving that way think about their schedule, the route and consider the longer way via the sealed roads through western NSW, Cunamulla and Quilpie instead.

Given the possibility of some rain, we recommend that you pack appropriate wet weather gear and footwear and ensure your camp set up is equipped for wet weather. It’s always good to make sure you have plenty of water and food on board too, in case of any delays.

All systems are go to hold the Big Red Bash as planned, and we’ll continue working with local authorities and the BOM and will provide updates as more information comes to us.
