Birdsville Big Red Bash
It's Live! in Queensland

2-4 JULY 2024

Festival Updates – 1st July

There’s been no rain since 4:30pm yesterday (in total 14.7mm fell on site). This morning the sun is shining and the breeze is expected to pick up. The site is now starting to dry¬†out. You can look forward to a dust-free Bash ūüėé

Our crew has been out to inspect most of the site to determine when roll in may be able to recommence.

As the rain only stopped at 4:30pm yesterday, the site is not quite ready for roll in yet. The access roads and campsites are not too bad considering the amount of rain and we are hopeful but not certain that we will be able to recommence roll in at some time later today.

Our next site evaluation will be at 1pm and we will update you at 2pm and advise you wether roll in is able to recommence today and at what time if it is.

Police have a road block in place to prevent non essential travel to the Big Red Bash, so please do not queue up here and remain camped or parked up in Birdsville until we update you about roll in this afternoon.

  • The road from Bedourie to Birdsville is open to all vehicles.
  • The road from Windorah is now open to 4WD. If you are in 2WD, the road from Windorah to Bedourie is open, and you can travel via Bedourie (approximately 190km extra).
  • The Birdsville Track remains closed.

Travellers are reminded to keep up to date with local weather and road reports as conditions can change. It only takes a small amount of rain to have an effect on local roads, so please plan ahead and check your plans regularly.

Ticket Office will be open for all ticket holders to exchange their e-tickets for wristbands and vehicle stickers at the Wirrarri Visitor Information Centre.

Open Hours
Monday 1st July – Wednesday 3rd July: 9am-5pm
